Subject: [TAC] Christifideles Laici, n.38: Respecting the Inviolable Right to Life...
Date: April 15, 2004 07:09 pm

Fratres,

Something to reflect upon for the November 2004 Election...

Following is a section from the Apostolic Exhortation Christifideles Laici
(On the Vocation and Mission of the Lay Faithful in the Church and in the
World) issued by Pope John Paul II on December 30, 1988. This passage
stresses the call of the faithful to defend human life.

Respecting the Inviolable Right to Life...

"...Above all, the common outcry, which is justly made on behalf of human
rights -- for example, the right to health, to home, to work, to family,
to culture -- is false and illusory if the right to life, the most basic
and fundamental right and the condition for all other personal rights, is
not defended with maximum determination."
(Christifideles Laici, n.38).
