Thank you for your recent email regarding the proposed new seal for Los
Angeles County. I appreciated it.

As you know, I vehemently oppose changing the County seal and voted
several times to preserve the cross and put the issue before a vote of
the people.

My votes are based upon the history of Los Angeles County. Our County
began with the founding of the San Gabriel Mission by Father Junipero
Serra in September 1771. However, like the totalitarians and book
burners of the past, the ACLU and the Board majority vote is re-writing
history.

Currently, David Hernandez is mounting a campaign to gather the requisite
number of signatures to force the Board to retain the original seal or
place the issue on the ballot. For more information, contact David at
(818) 982-1484 or visit the website at OurFirstAmendment.org. Thank you
again for writing.

Sincerely,

MICHAEL D. ANTONOVICH
Supervisor
